Does 15 May 2016 sound familiar to you? A sunny day in Barcelona, Spain. Correct! Max's first victory. A memorable day for many F1 fans. For he did something not often seen before. He won the very first race he drove for Red Bull Racing. Do I need to go on about this? I think we all know what that day looked like. The puzzle pieces fell into place that day. He won just that race that year, meanwhile we are three world championships down the line. Who knows what lies ahead in the future.
Max has a number of memorable victories to his name. How about his 2022 Spa victory. Max started outside the top 10 but drove into first position in no time. One of his most dominant victories, in other words.
Another Grand Prix we all remember well? Abu Dhabi 2021? Does that ring a bell? Indeed, the Grand Prix where Max won his first world title. It doesn't get more hectic and dramatic than this race if you ask me.
Another memorable victory for Max is the 2019 Austrian race. Here, Max had a real catch-up race. He, after a poor start, overtook many drivers again and ran off with victory. Do you have any memorable victories by Max? Let us know!
Max has already won quite a few races in 2022. So many, in fact, that he already had a record to his name before 2023. So how many races has he won? In 2022, he won 15 out of 22 Grand Prix. Hold that number for a moment. That's quite a number! That year, Verstappen was already unbeatable. What a prelude to what was to come in 2023...
In 2023, however, Max clicked into an even higher gear. Indeed, during the season, he won 19 out of 22(!) races. In doing so, Max completely shattered his own record. Another record that Max broke this season is the number of wins in a row. Max stood on the top step of the podium no less than 10(!) Grand Prix in a row.
Exactly how many wins does Max have to his name? At the end of last season, the tally stood at no less than 54 wins. He also won the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi. With this 54th win, he is now third in the ranking of most wins. In fact, with this victory, he has overtaken Sebastian Vettel. Impressive! How many more races do you think Max will win? Let us know!
The (far too long) winter break is upon us again. The F1 drivers are going on a well-deserved holiday. While they are on holiday, there is of course ample time to think about what is to come. How many races will Max win in 2024? Will he be world champion again or will it be someone else next year after all? Plenty to discuss with you fellow F1 fans during the winter months.
