Zandvoort gives you the feeling that you are completely away from it all. The place to get a breath of fresh air on the beach and enjoy the beautiful dunes. Just enjoy the sun with a snack or drink on the beach, while you sit with your bare feet in the warm sand. But Zandvoort is more….!
ORANGE ARMY!
After a long absence, the madness in Zandvoort has taken the racing track again since 2021. The Orange Army will temporarily take over Circuit Zandvoort once a year. During the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix, the Orange Army will transform Zandvoort into one big orange sea.
Circuit Zandvoort
Circuit Zandvoort is once again a special event on the Formula 1 calendar. The circuit has been completely modernized for the race in 2021, including a spectacular banked corner in the form of the famous Arie Luyendyk corner with a lean angle of no less than 18 degrees. All drivers are therefore very pleased with this challenging circuit.
Circuit Zandvoort history
The first race in Zandvoort took place in 1948, at that time under the name Grand Prix of Zandvoort. From 1950 on the name was changed from Grand Prix of Zandvoort to Grote Prijs van Nederland (Dutch Grand Prix). There have been many big names that have won this Grand Prix, including Jim Clark (4x), Jackie Stewart (3x) and Niki Lauda (3x). In 2021, 2022 and 2023, the Dutchman was added: Max Verstappen, the driver for whom the entire circuit turns orange. He has won the race three times in a row so far. Will you be there when he equals the record of Jim Clark?
Reminiscing in lovely Zandvoort
After an exciting race weekend, there is nothing better than enjoying the exciting moments on the circuit. Take the time to relax in the sun on the beach or at one of the many cozy beach pavilions or terraces. Or maybe a lovely walk through the dunes or the pleasant center of Zandvoort.
