The Bahrein International Circuit is 3.6 mile race track that hosts the Bahrein Grand Prix since 2004. Because of its location in the desert, the course is notorious for low-grip conditions.

"The Bahrain circuit is quite a challenge, but I think it is a fun track. Because of the wind and the sand, every lap feels differently, that makes it tricky. The kerbs also are something else: you either don't go there or take them full on. Driving at night under lights is without doubt special."

Imola – or the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari as it’s been known since 1988 – had its foundation stone laid in 1950. In 1980 the track was awarded the honour of hosting the Italian Grand Prix for the first time that year. The circuit is described as a ‘thrill ride’. The anti-clockwise circuit is certainly fast, with an old-school feel as the drivers put it on the line in iconic corners like the Acque Minerali and Piratella.

"Imola is a great track, but it is not an easy track. It is quite narrow and there are a lot of curbstones to negotiate. It is important to find a good compromise between top speed on the long straight and also good cornering to be able to take the curbstones well. A nice challenge."

The 100,000 capacity Algarve International Circuit (Portuguese: Autódromo Internacional do Algarve), commonly referred to as Portimão Circuit, is a 4.692 km race circuit. With a total cost of €195 million, the project includes a karting track, technology park, five-star hotel, sports complex and apartments. Construction was finished in October 2008.

"I think Portimao is a really great track. But due to the new asphalt, there was very little grip in 2020 and all the time I was sliding with the car. It was slippery and there was only one decent line to drive, so that was difficult."

Circuit de Monaco is a street circuit, situated in the streets of Monaco and La Condamine, around the harbour of the Principality of Monaco. It is commonly referred to as Monte Carlo, because the majority of the race is driven in the district Monte Carlo. The track has a length of 2.07 miles.

"Monaco is a difficult and challenging circuit and I like those characteristics. It's vital to hit the apex and to exit the corners without much wheel spin. That's where you'll find most lap time. Street circuits suit me. There is not a lot of grip and the cars are slipping and sliding. I love it! It means you're right on the limit with the car, close to the edge. It's all about the feel you have as a driver, I really enjoy that."

"Baku has a street circuit and I really enjoy that. The big difference with other street circuits is that there are a couple of long straights on this circuit. That combined with tight corners makes it very interesting, especially for the wing settings."

"It's nice to race at Montreal, because it's half a street circuit and I really like that. The long straights with high speeds and heavy braking for the tight hairpins are nice. It has a tricky chicane which you exit very close to the wall. There is not much room for errors, so it's quite a challenging track."

The circuit Paul Ricard, near Marseille, was built in 1969 and was one of the safest circuits in the world at that time. From 1971 to 1990 it hosted the French Grand Prix almost every year. After a substantial renovation, the 3.6 mile track will be on the Formula 1-calendar again from 2018 onwards.

"Circuit Paul Ricard is not an easy track with very wide open entries to corners which is different to most other tracks we race on. From the helicopter you can see all the different track lay-outs. From the car it’s not as bad. I think in general it’s good to have a Grand Prix in France. It’s a historic track which is well known for its safety, it also attracts lots of fans who love the sport which is great to see. It’s also not far from home, which makes life a bit easier."

"Silverstone is an awesome track to drive. It's a very fluent circuit with a sequence of fast corners. Especially the section called Maggots and Becketts is fantastic. It's not an easy track to understand at first. The weather can be a bit strange and the crosswinds can make it really challenging, sometimes requiring completely different set-up from one session to the next."

"Hungaroring is very short, pretty narrow, not so many straights and successive fast corners. It is a challenging circuit, where you need to make optimum use of the space on the track. Miss one corner, and pay the price in the following one. So it is essential to be in a good flow. I am looking forward to the race."

Circuit Zandvoort swoops and flows through the sand dunes, creating a rollercoaster-like feel to the lap. The circuit is modernised for Formula 1’s 2020 return, including increasing the banking angle at the famous Arie Luyendyk corner to an Indianapolis Motor Speedway-trumping 18 degrees. Zandvoort is a proper, challenging drivers’ track.

"It’s just an iconic, historic track. It’s a pretty quick track. The track is pretty challenging because you have a few banked corners, some places are very narrow and there’s no run off. It’s very cool, and it’s quite hard to find the limit. That makes it more exciting."

The Marina Bay Circuit Park is a street circuit around the harbour of Singapore. Since 2008, the Grand Prix of Singapore is held there. In the history of the Formula 1, it is the first race to be held at night. Even though it is a street circuit, it was, as so many current Grand Prix-tracks, designed by Hermann Tilke. The circuit is 3.15 miles long.

"The Singapore Grand Prix is not only a night race, but it's aIso held on a street circuit, which always makes it more challenging. It reminds be off Monaco because we drive so close to the barriers and it isn';t easy to overtake. Nevertheless it's a very challenging track: long, lots of corners, braking, bumpy."

"Suzuka is a beautiful but difficult track to drive. You really have to nail the corner sequences. This circuit is extra special to me as it is the first time I drove an F1 car during a Grand Prix weekend."

"It's a circuit with a lot of fast straights but not so many corners. The first two sections are a bit too slow for my liking. You'll need a lot of traction and a car that absorbs the curbstones well. The fast turns are definitively the best part. The stadium section is also nice: it's really cool to drive through."

Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known by its former name Interlagos, is a motorsport circuit located in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. The venue is most famous for hosting the Brazilian Formula 1 Grand Prix and is one of the few anti-clockwise races on the calendar.

"Interlagos is, due to the difference in height, very fun to drive. Because of the great camber, it makes braking a real challenge. The curbstones are much harder now, because some have been changed. Besides, the track is also hard on your tyres which makes it quite exciting in some corners."
