At the end of the day the Stewart team concluded the third and final of a productive test ession at the circuit of Silverstone. Together with all the other teams Stewart had been testing in preparation for the British Grand Prix on July 12. Some major changes to the car were tried today to see what the effect would be on the car. Jos hasn't been able to make that many laps, some 40 laps, because the team has spent a relative long amount of time making changes to the car.

At the end of the day Jos set a fastest time of 1:27.43, teammate Rubens Barrichello set a time of 1:26.66 with a slightly improved version of the Ford Zetec-R engine. Jos wasn't completely satisfied with his time and the set-up of the car. He was satisfied though with the fact that a lot of different things have been tried on the car so the team has gathered a lot of useful information.

The team will now start working on a couple of improvements on the car. On the basis of computer read-outs they will define the best set-up for the car for the next Grand Prix.

Michael Schumacher was the fastest man at Silverstone on Friday with a best time of 1:24.78, for which he needed 90 laps. Ralf Schumacher was second with 1:24.83 and David Coulthard was third with 1:25.22. Giancarlo Fisichella, Alexander Wurz and Mika Hakkinen completed the top 6.
