Published on 24 March 2021 by Stefan Meens

15 May 2016, the day Max Verstappen scored his first Grand Prix victory and became the youngest ever winner in Formula 1. It was an unforgettable race in which Max made the most of the two Mercedes taking each other out on the first lap, before fending off Ferrari veteran Kimi Raikkonen for 22 laps to take the chequered flag at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and claim his maiden win.

Check out the video below and join Max to relive the story about how a teenager, who made his F1 debut aged seventeen, became a Grand Prix winner in his very first race for Red Bull Racing.

To commemorate the race, there are still a few 1:8 scale models of the RB12 available at https://barcelona.verstappenshop.nl
