Published on 12 June 2020 by Stefan Meens

Team Redline qualified in fifth for the virtual Le Mans 24 hours race. Atze Kerkhof and Greger Hutte are joined by Aston Martin Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen and McLaren's Lando Norris to respresent Redline. Jernej Simoncic claimed pole position for team ByKolles - Burst Esport.

Max Verstappen is one of the 200 entrants to the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual. The grid consists of a combination of professional race drivers and sim racers. They will battle each other on rFactor2 in a race that promises to be the largest ever esports-endurance race.

Driver changes are mandatory. The minimum driving time for every driver is four hours. Over the whole race, a driver can stay behind the wheel for a maximum of seven hours. The event will take place in mixed weather conditions and damaged cars will be able to be repaired in the pits. Teams are allowed to change the setup in order to maximize performance of their car. Refueling and tyre changes are also essential components which makes strategy of the utmost importance during the race. And finally, a race leader will monitor sportsmanship and (driving) conduct.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual will start 14.00 hrs (GMT) on Saturday 13 June and can be followed online at: https://24virtual.lemansesports.com
