Max is ready for the start of the F1-season: 'Making sure I'm in shape'

Because of the launch of the fourth MAXRAW collection by G-Star RAW, Max Verstappen was on air during DJ Wietze de Jager’s show on Radio 538.
When asked whether he designed the MAXRAW IV collection himself, he truthfully answers: “No, not entirely, I leave that to the specialists, all in all that’s maybe better as well”, says Max with a smile. “Just stick to what you know’.
Max is at home in Monaco waiting for when the 2020 Formula 1-season gets underway. Which, as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, will most likely kick off in the first weekend of July. “It’s a pity that all those Grands Prix and events have to be moved, but we need to make the best of it of course. Everyone is trying to cope with it as best as possible.”
For Max this means that except for simracing, he also needs to make sure that he physically stays in shape. The Dutchman says: “My trainer is here in Monaco, so there are no problems when it comes to that. I make sure that I am in shape: you never know when you need to be ready, so you need to stay in shape.”
When asked if he thinks he could become world champion this year, there is no clear answer: “That would be nice and we are definitely going to do our best. But since the Winter testing in Barcelona we haven’t driven anymore, so we need to wait and see.”
Before the live conversation between Wietze and Max continues on the Instagram accounts from Radio 538 and G-Star RAW , Max is given a proposition which he needs to answer with true or false. Just like the rest of the questions posed by the listeners after that.
Do you have a recurring ritual before the start of a race? Max: “False. I don’t really have a ritual. I run through my normal preparation together with the team, but personally I don’t have a ritual. Sometimes I listen to music, sometimes I don’t, it also depends on how busy or hectic it is.” Max sums it up: “I just get in the car and floor it.”
