Pirelli announces tyre choices Singapore Grand Prix

Published on 13 September 2019 by Mike Motilall

Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier, have announced the tyre choices the different teams have made for the Singapore Grand Prix. On the 5,063 kilometer long Marina Bay Street Circuit, the teams have the C3, C4 and C5-tyres at their disposal which are also respectively striped white, yellow and red.

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing has gone, together with Renault and Racing Point, for the most aggressive approach. They have selected no less than ten sets of the softest compound for the race weekend, which will be, for the greater part, driven in artificial light. As oppose to Ferrari and Mercedes, who have gone for only nine and eight sets of the reds. Williams is with just seven sets the most reserved of them all.

With just ten sets of the softest tyre, only one set of the medium rubber remain for both Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon, while the drivers from Ferrari and Mercedes all have three at their disposal. Williams takes the cake by having opted for no less than four (George Russell) and five (Robert Kubica) sets of the yellow striped tyre for the Singapore Grand Prix.
