Pirelli announces tyre choices British Grand Prix

Published on 03 July 2019 by Mike Motilall

Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier, has announced the tyre choices the respective teams have made for the British Grand Prix. During the race weekend on the historical Silverstone circuit, the teams have at their disposal the three hardest compounds available: the C1, C2 and C3. The C1 (the hardest compound) is recognizable by the white striping, while the C2 (mediums) and C3 (softs) are respectively yellow and red striped.

The Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team, together with some other squads, have all gone for a similar tyre set up consisting of nine sets of the softs, three sets of mediums and one set of the hardest compound. Renault opts for the most aggressive approach. Daniel Ricciardo and team mate Nico Hulkenberg have no less than ten sets of the softs at their disposal. Williams have gone for the most reserved tyre selection of everyone with just seven sets of the red striped soft tyre.
