Max climbs Graz's Schlossberg in F1 showrun

Published on 16 June 2019 by Niels Hendrix

The partnership between the City of Graz, Red Bull Racing and Projekt Spielberg titled “Schloßberg grüßt Spielberg” which has been going for a couple of years now, is entering its next stage. On 26 June, motorsport enthusiasts will once again have the chance to experience the power of the sport’s top tier up close when Max Verstappen will shoot up Schloßberg with his Formula 1 car, powered by some 900 bhp. He will thus walk in the footsteps of Sebastian Vettel who rocked Graz’s inner city with his RB8 world championship winning car in front of 15,000 racing fans in 2012. The warm up for the squad’s home race will once again bring pure Formula 1 vibes to the metropolis on the Mur River.

Starting at Karmeliterplatz, the winner of the Austrian round from 2018, Max Verstappen, will climb Schloßberg aboard his F1 thoroughbred, passing the Styrian capital’s landmark, Uhrturm tower, in the process. His destination are the famous Graz Kasematten where he will hold a press conference together with Mayor Siegfried Nagl, Red Bull Racing Motorsport Consultant Dr. Helmut Marko and Theaterholding Graz’s Bernhard Rinner.

Autograph collectors will get their chance to add to their collection prior to the Schloßberg Showrun 2019 when Max Verstappen, his Red Bull Racing teammate Pierre Gasly and the Toro Rosso drivers Daniil Kvyat and Alexander Albon greet their fans at Karmeliterplatz, starting at 10.00 am.

Those who can’t make it to the highest point in Graz on this day can experience their F1 heroes in action from 28 to 30 June in Spielberg. They will furthermore be treated to highlights such as the Legends Parade, Public Pitlane Walk, the “Styrian Green Carpet”, autograph sessions at the F1 Fanzone, stunt and air shows and much more.
