Toro Rosso discovers problem Max’ qualifying

Published on 04 July 2015 by Mike Motilall

After finishing the qualifying for the British Grand Prix, which Max Verstappen ended disappointingly in thirteenth, the Dutchman was clueless as to why he was lacking speed. Scuderia Toro Rosso has tracked down the issue and solved it.

“We found the problem that was hampering us from having a good qualifying. It was something technical that had to do with the drivability”, says Max, who was suffering from a lot of oversteering during qualifying. Meanwhile, the component, the wastegate, a valve in the exhaust of the engine, has been replaced.

Max was strikingly strong during the free practices, which he finished respectively in third, seventh and fifth. “It is a shame that we were not able to put the good start of the weekend to good use during qualifying. But the race is tomorrow!”, affirms a feisty sounding Max as always.
