Max drives Austin and Sao Paulo at Milton Keynes

Published on 15 October 2014 by Stefan Meens

In between the last two rounds of the European Formula 3 championship, Max Verstappen travelled to the Red Bull Racing HQ in Milton Keynes. There, at the Red Bull Technology Centre, the F1 rookie used the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 simulator to acquaint himself with the Austin and Sao Paulo circuits in preparation for his free practice 1 outings during the Brazilian and American Grand Prix.

“Today I've spend a lot of time in the sim to prepare for the upcoming races. We've looked at the set-up of the car and we tried several different things. I can't go into details but there were both short and long runs involved”, reveals Max who started his simulator work on Suzuka, before venturing into unknown territory.

“Switching between three different tracks was no issue for me as I adapt quickly. The Austin circuits looks amazing. The first sector is very fast so I’m looking forward to drive there. Interlagos, with it's anti-clockwise lay-out, looks fun and challenging”, said the Red Bull rookie.
“You're able to get loads of work done in the simulator. With a few clicks on the computer we are able to completely change the set-up of the car. It gives me more time to drive instead of waiting in the pits. All in all, a very useful day.”

After a busy day at the Red Bull Technology centre, Max will travel to Hockenheim on Thursday to contest the final round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship upcoming weekend.
