Jos happy with Max' pre-season testing

Max Verstappen is preparing for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship opener at Silverstone after an intense pre-season preparation. After a useful shakedown with plenty of valuable track time at Most, Max resumed his testing duties at the official Euro F3 tests at the Hungaroring and the Red Bull Ring. At the former, he finished the four sessions in seventh, first, third and fifth. At the Austrian circuit, Max clinched P3, P23, P2 and P1.

As his and mentor, Jos Verstappen is very much involved in Max’ venture into single seater racing. “I’m very happy with the pre-season test at the Red Bull Ring. We had the opportunity to really get to know the car and Max tried several different set-ups. Everything we’ve learned here, we can utilize at Silverstone.”

The former Formula 1 driver is also pleased with the progress made at the first pre-season test at the Hungaroring. “At the first test, things went well too, which shows that the team and Max really got the right foundations laid. It is now a matter of fine tuning the details to fully use the potential.”
Both test sessions were concluded with plenty of practice starts. “I thought Max’ starts were pretty good. Especially the last one was really good. There are always little things he can improve, but if he’s able to pull off a start like his last practice run, things look good”, reveals Jos.

“All in all I’m very satisfied. We’ve worked together with the whole Van Amersfoort Racing team for over ten days and the collaboration is outstanding. There is positive vibe throughout the team, which is important. Furthermore, Max gets on well with his teammates and they all suit each other. In short, we are really looking forward to compete in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship!”
