A total of 463 participants joined our latest race contest, a new record. Prize winner of the Philips car stereo is Patrick Roozen. Also an extra prize was made available for the best estimation of the fastest lap time. For a complete overview of all prize winners and the complete listing, take a look at our prize page.

Hill is the new F1 1996 World Champion. He won the Japanese Grand Prix in a perfect race. His teammate Jacques Villeneuve dropped out in lap 36, propably caused by the fact that his right rear wheel got off. With or without this incident though Hill would still be World Champion. Schumacher was second securing the second place for Ferrari in the constructors championship and Hakkinen was third.

Jos drove a smooth race and finished 11th, lapping teammate Rosset who finished 13th. Afterwards Jos told us that he had a very relaxed race, had absolute no necktroubles, and on the whole was pleased with the race. Jos is confident about a good seat for next year's championship and is still negotiating with several teams.

A more complete race report will follow. For now see Japanese Grand Prix Results for the complete race results.
