The prequalification in preparation for the British Grand Prix on Silverstone has just finished. Michael Schumacher was fastest in 1.19.474, he is the last one out tomorrow. Barrichello ended up in the gravel trap in the third sector during his flying lap and caused a red flag situation. He is the second one to set a time tomorrow because he did not set an official time. Justin Wilson did not set a time either so he will be the first one out. His car stopped on his outlap.

Jos Verstappen set the slowest time. A 1.23.418 meant he was over a second slower than Ralph Firman. Both BMW Williams drivers had a good day, Montoya was second fastest and Ralf Schumacer third. Olivier Panis set an excellent 5th time for Toyota. If we ignore the two non-qualifiers there are three teams who cannot match the pace of the other teams; Sauber, Jordan and Minardi.
